Sierra Leone Public Expenditure Review 2021
The overall objective of the Public Expenditure Review (PER) for primary and secondary education is to assess the quality and efficiency of public spending on education in order to recommend measures to help heighten the quality and efficiency of public spending in primary and secondary education. The remainder of this report is structured as follows: Chapter two presents macro-fiscal overview extracted mainly from the Macro-Fiscal PER (World Bank, Forthcoming A). Chapter three provides an overview of the education sector context and structure. Chapter four reviews how the main outcomes of the sector have evolved recently. Chapter five reviews the trends in public spending in the education sector. Chapter six analyses the efficiency and equity of education spending. The analysis is followed by chapter seven, a summary of the main findings and policy recommendations.
