Distribución geográfica Explotación forestal Recursos forestales Comercialización Composición del bosque Recursos forestales Material histórico Fitzroya cupressoides (Mol.) es una conífera gigante que se encuentra principalmente en el sur de Chile y el sudoeste de Argentina, cuya continuación la existencia en gran número se debe a factores culturales y ecológicos amenazados. La fisonomía de Alerce está realmente fuera de lugar de musa, este "gran árbol" de California, y su madera es tan altamente valiosa como la de Sequoia sempervirens (Secuoya costera).
