En Valle de Ángeles ocurren situaciones de conflicto de uso de la tierra por la presión urbana y el crecimiento de la frontera agrícola, las cuales afectan las zonas donde se ubican las fuentes y presas de agua. Con el fin de dar solución a estos problemas se inició un proceso de manejo y gestión de los recursos naturales, con base en la metodología investigación-acción participativa. Se buscó estudiar la legislación, la capacidad de los actores, la presencia de conflictos socio-ambientales referidos al recurso y factores a favor o en contra de la protección del agua. Se identificaron elementos claves que sirvan de insumos para orientar una buena gestión del agua. In Valle de Angeles there are land use conflicts due to urbanization and agriculture border expansion, affecting the areas where the water sources and dams are located. Aiming at solving those problems, a natural resource managing and negotiating process was begun using the participative methodology Research-Action. The study was focused on legislation, stakeholders’ capacities, water environmental conflicts, and pros and cons to water protection.
