IEEM and Tourism Investment: Insights from the IEEM Platform for Costa Rica

The Integrated Economic-Environmental Modeling (IEEM) Platform provides powerful insights into the potential impact of public policy and investment. This infographic highlights an application of the IEEM Platform to tourism in Costa Rica. Our analysis with IEEM identifies: (i) the portfolio of investments that generates the greatest returns; (ii) synergies and trade-offs between alternative investment portfolios; (iii) government tax revenue implications of investment, and; (iv) opportunities to enhance natural capital and ecosystem services.
