Data and code for the publication entitled "The limited contribution of large trees to annual biomass production in an old-growth tropical forest"

This archive contains all the necessary data and R script to reproduce the results of the manuscript entitled "The limited contribution of large trees to annual biomass production in an old-growth tropical forest" published in Ecological Application journal. It includes three csv files. Mbaiki_sharedData1.csv has one row per subplot. In this table, the initial stand structure and biomass fluxes (growth, mortality, recruitement) are given for each subplot. Mbaiki_sharedData2.csv has the same structure but it has one row for each diameter class and subplot. Mbaiki_sharedData3.csv is a summary table at the plot level. In these tables are used the following abbreviations in column names: "BA" for basal area (m²/ha), "N" for tree density (/ha), "QSD" or "DG" for mean quadratic diameter (cm), "growth" for the basal area or biomass produced due to tree growth, mortality for the basal area or biomass lost due to tree mortality, "recruitment" for the basal area or biomass produced due to tree recruitment, "pcBiomassInLargeTrees" the relative biomass abundance of large trees, "net" for the biomass net change, "initial" for the first census... Biomass stocks and fluxes are always given in Mg/ha and Mg/ha/year respectively. The archive also contains a script to reproduce the main analyses and figures with R software.
