True resistance to Colletotrichum coffeanum (Glomerella cingulata) appears to be controlled by major genes on 3 loci. The highly resistant coffee cv. Rume Sudan carries the dominant R and recessive K genes. R1R1 alleles are present in Rume Sudan and the less effective R2R2 in cvs. such as Pretoria. The moderately resistant K7 carries only the K gene. The arabica-like cv. Hibrido de Timor carries one gene for CBD resistance on the T locus with intermediate action, probably inherited from its robusta parent
