Present status of biological control of the coffee berry borer Hypothenemus hampei

Two of the three known parasitoids of Hypothenemus hampei have recently been shipped to Mexico and Ecuador. The third cannot be reared in the laboratory at present and cannot be shipped directly because of the risk of spreading coffee diseases. Beauveria bassiana and estomogenous nematodes are pathogenic and their integration into control schemes requires investigation
