Seasonal patterns of growth and development of arabica coffee in Kenya, 4: Effects of seasonal differences in rainfall on bean size
El tamaño del grano es uno de los principales factores que afectan el valor del grano en Kenya. Este artículo destaca que para una variedad dada y una determinada localidad, el factor más importante que afecta el tamaño del grano es con certeza el suministro de agua (lluvia o riego) durante el período de mayor aumento de tamaño de la cereza, o sea entre las 10 y las 17 semanas después de la floración (4 a 6 meses antes de la cosecha).
