Estudio de poblaciones de bacterias endofíticas de la rizosfera del banano para el biocontrol del nemátodo barrenador Radopholus similis
A total of 242 endophytic bacteria isolates were recovered from high and low production sites in 12 commercial banana farms located in the Atlantic area of Costa Rica. The most frequent bacteria genres found were Bacillus spp. and Pseudomonas spp. A total of 64 endophytic bacteria isolates from these genres were selected to evaluate their abilities to colonize and penetrate Radopholus similis at the radical system. Based on the colonization and penetration results, 30 isolates were evaluated to study their activity and biocontrol on Radopholus similis and their effect on plant growth promotion.
