The central problem, which this work intends to elucidate, is how a peasant population tends to adjust to economic and social conditions, with a view to maintaining and, if possible, raising the level of living. Secondary research problem is how the dvpmt of peasant society can be influenced in order to further the economic and social development of national and village societies
