La compleja realidad penitenciaria venezolana, ha sido abordada históricamente desde el paradigma de la simplicidad, invisibilizando al conjunto de actores sociales afectados. Las mujeres que acompañan a los privados y privadas de libertad son un grupo especialmente vulnerable. Ellas transforman sus vidas para atender las demandas impuestas por el sistema penal y procesal penal siendo sometidas a diversas formas de violencia.
