Best efficience in cow meat range systems is related with a smaller partum interval time. The aim of this work is to compare differencies in partum interval and frame between Criollo and aberdeen angus cows. Data provided include 52 Criollo cows and 107 Aberdeen Angus cows under the same environmental conditions. Information analysis includes quntitative variables by one hand, such as IPI (first partum interval), IP2 (second), IP (where both intervals are not discrimined) and Alz (frame), and by the other qualitative variables, that is, R1 (Aberdeen Angus breed), R2 (Criollo Breed), and the upper quantitative variables but classified in an ordinal form. Linear regression analisys is imprved because of year effect. Basic statistics are measured, and regression and variance analysis, and CM (multiple corresponse determination) are also improved. About proportionality, chi square is used. There are signifficative differencies between breeds. Criollo breed appears related with the smaller IP2 and the higher frame.

La mayor eficiencia en los sistemas de producción de cría vacuna depende de la menor duración del intervalo entre partos. Este trabajo se propone establecer diferencias entre el comportamiento de hembras adultas de las razas Criolla y A. Angus con respecto al intervalo entre partos y la alzada a la grupa. Seutilizan datos que provienen de 52 vacas criollas y 107 A. Angus coloradas criadas en iguales condiciones. Para analizar la información se emplean variables cuantitativas: IP1 (intervalo entre el primer y segundo parto), IP2 (intervalo entre segundo y tercer parto), IP (intervalo entre partos sin discriminarentre IP1 e IP2), Alz (alzada a la grupa); y variables cualitativas: R1 (A. Angus), R2 (Criolla) y las cuantitativas categorizadas en forma ordinal (IP, IP1, IP2 y ALz). Se emplea análisis de regresión lineal para observar la presencia de un efecto de año. Se calculan estadísticos básicos y se emplea anál isis de regresión lineal, análisis de varianza, análisis de Chi2 de homogeneidad para proporciones y la técnica multivariada de correspondencias múltiples (CM). Los resultados indican que existen diferencias significativas entre razas para las medias de IP2 y asociación para la raza Criolla con el menor IP2 y la mayor Alz.
