Emotions in feminist research for the study of spaces of fear in the universities
From the perspective of feminist studies, this article pretends to discuss the reasons why the study of spaces of fear in Social Sciences is key to understanding violence and spatial segregation, generated by gender intersections, understanding that this segregation produces inequalities that are reproduced in the Universities. A general overview of violence against women in Mexico and higher education institutions is presented, later theoretical aspects are addressed that will help to understand the reasons why it is of the utmost importance to place emotions in the studies on the social construction of relationships in general and violence. After presenting these concepts, its possibilities for studying the dynamics in educational spaces, specifically, universities, are highlighted, an area that until now has been little addressed with this approach.

El presente trabajo está centrado en exponer las razones por las que el estudio de los espacios de miedo desde las ciencias sociales es clave para entender la violencia y la segregación espacial, generada por atravesamientos de género, entendiendo que esta segregación produce desigualdades que se reproducen en las universidades. Se expone un panorama general sobre la violencia contra las mujeres en México y en las instituciones de educación superior (IES) del país, posteriormente se abordan aspectos teóricos que ayudarán a entender las razones por las que es de suma importancia situar a las emociones en los estudios sobre la construcción social de las relaciones en general y de las violencias en particular. Después de exponer estos conceptos, se destacan sus posibilidades para estudiar las dinámicas en los espacios educativos, en específico, las universidades, ámbito que hasta ahora ha sido poco abordado con este enfoque.
