PARÁMETROS ELÁSTICOS Y ACÚSTICOS PARA LA PREDICCIÓN DE FLUIDOS Y LITOLOGÍA EN EL LAGO DE MARACAIBO / ELASTIC AND ACOUSTIC PARAMETERS FOR THE PREDICTION OF FLUIDS AND LITHOLOGY IN THE LAKE OF MARACAIBO
Se ha demostrado que las propiedades de las rocas del yacimiento y de los fluidos contenidos en su interior estánrelacionadas con los parámetros geomecánicos de éstas. En esta investigación, la dependencia entre los parámetroselásticos y acústicos de las rocas se obtuvieron por medio de la velocidad de la onda compresional (VP), la velocidad deonda de cizalla (VS) y la densidad (ρ) obtenida a través de registros de pozo. Como resultado del análisis, se demuestra quelos parámetros anteriormente mencionados tienen que ser tomados en conjunto y no por separado, para clasificar laslitologías estudiadas. Sin embargo, dos de los parámetros estudiados pueden ser utilizados para indicar las diferenciasentre litologías, a través de gráficos correlacionados pero no para discriminar el contenido de fluidos en las arenas.ABSTRACTIt has been demonstrated that the properties of reservoir rocks and the fluids contained in their interior are related to theirgeomechanical parameters. In this study, the relationship between the elastic and acoustic parameters of the rocks wasobtained by means of the velocity of the compressional wave (VP), the velocity of the shear wave (VS) and the density (ρ)as result of well log analysis. As a result, it is shown that the previously mentioned parameters have to be taken as a wholeand not separately in order to classify the studied lithology. However, two of the studied parameters can be used to indicatethe differences between lithologies, through correlated graphics but not to discriminate the content of fluids in the sands.Keywords: elastic and acoustic parameters, fluids, lithology.
