Comparative study of irrigation efficiency; California and Chilean central valley

Irrigation efficiency values were compared among those obtained in California by Vaux et al and these obtained by the author in Central zone of Chile. The definitive difference found is due to irrigation methodology used. These average irrigation efficiency in California is about 71% and the one obtained in Chile is 36.7%.

En California la eficiencia del riego promedio es 71.0% y en el Valle Central de Chile es de 36.7%, y lo que es peor el 91 % de los casos riega con eficiencias menores al 50%.
