Longevity based on recaptures of thrushes (Turdus spp) from Northwest Argentine
Results on recaptures and longevity of thrushes banded in ringing stations in Tucumán, Argentina, are presented. Out of 1.136 captured thrushes belonging to four species (Turdus rufiventris, T. amaurochalinus, T. chiguanco and T. nigriceps), 85 recaptures were obtained at the same banding site. Most of the recaptures occurred in the first and second year of tagging. We obtained a single recapture of a T. rufiventris after 8 years, which corresponds to the longest-lived specimen.
