Report on the Progress of Implementation of Sustainable Public Procurement in the Republic of Moldova (2017-2020) - Draft

Sustainable public procurement (SPP) is one of the most important manifestations of government’s commitment to support the call for sustainable consumption and production patterns (SDG 12) by serving as an example for the private sector to follow. Specifically, SDG 12.7 calls the promotion of public procurement practices that are sustainable in accordance with national policies and priorities, and governments are encouraged to participate in the monitoring of the number of countries that are implementing SPP policies and action plans. This progress report provides a preliminary assessment of the current environmental legal framework affecting the public procurement and existing instruments to support the implementation of SPP in the Republic of Moldova.
