Biocontrol of Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum with endophytic bacteria formulationst1 and its effect in the growth promotion in bean crop

Abstract Two formulations based on endophytic microbial consortia of genus Bacillus, were evaluated for the control of Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum. The bioproducts were applied three times on bean plants from Pinto Saltillo cultivar; the first application was made at sowing time, the second when more than 70 % of the plants had reached around 15 cm long and the third, 15 days after the second. The distribution of the experiment was in a randomized block design under greenhouse conditions. 60 days after sowing, the incidence and severity of the disease was evaluated to determine the biocontrol effect, as well as the length and diameter of the stem and the relative chlorophyll content to determine the effect of the bacteria on the plant growth promotion. The results showed that the formulations partially reduced the severity of the disease, it was also found that they were able to significantly promote growth of bean plants. The results present an alternative that can be used in integrated management of R. solani and F. oxysporum.
