Identities in conflict
The times are turbulent. Assuming tense and plural identities in the production of knowledge has been one of the main objectives of this publication. Deeply shocked at the cultural, social and political level, the post-dictatorial Chile highlights the importance of rethinking identities and collective subjects in the strengthening of our fragile and petty democracies. In Chile, the epochal crisis of identities still shows the effects of multiple strategies convened in the "erasure" of subjects and actors ,who after having expressed radical political impulses in the recent past, have been suspended in a morass of fear and disappointment. Ease and creativity have returned in a carnival style in current social protests opening the way to new forms of identity, to unsettling political and cultural expressions.
