A Kumbla Consciousness

In this article, the author describes how he arrived at appropriating the word "kumbla" from Caribbean and literary discourse to use as a metaphor for a mutating contested space--nurturing but potentially imprisoning--like school/education/Trinidad and Tobago. He notes his plans to use the concept in trying to articulate a theory for a Caribbean curriculum
