Analysis of student performance in Social Studies at the Common Entrance Examination in Trinidad and Tobago
This study attempts to ascertain student performance in Social Studies in Trinidad and Tobago, identify areas of strength and weakness, provide support to teachers where necessary, and investigate organizational patterns and support systems in selected schools. The Common Entrance Examination (CXC) papers for 1982-1985 were analysed and a study made of the performance in the 1985 examination of a random selection of schools, as well as the performance of selected schools with 60 percent and more of their students scoring above 40 percent of the total marks.
