There are also accusations of trafficking of Haitian children to perform forced labour on state-owned plantations. Hugh Crosskill interviews Jose Arteaga, spokesman for the President of the Dominican Republic, who rejects the report of the Lawyer’s Committee for Human Rights which condemns its treatment of Haitian cane cutters.
