Debbie Ransome’s report features speeches by Basdeo Panday and Patrick Manning (00:38-04:20) 3. Panic amongst depositors arise due to the closure of three commercial banks in the Dominican Republic last Friday (04:21-04:44) 4. The leader of the Opposition in Barbados, Richie Haynes, states that the IMF has indicated that the Barbados dollar is overvalued. He also notes that there is fiscal chaos in the Barbadian economy with declining revenues despite high taxation (04:45-07:14) 5. The Caribbean Tourism Organization officially launches its London-based European office. Interviews with Carol Brady, Head of the CTO; Michael Powell, Deputy Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and first Vice Chairman of the CTO Board of Directors; and David Hamlet, Overseas Manager of Hayes and Jarvis.
