In this report the launch of the protest campaign by the British Union of the Abolition of Vivisection(BUAV) against the the mistreatment of the green monkey in Barbados is highlighted. But the Barbados government says its record is clear. Also, the upcoming elections in St. Vincent is discussed and key persons from the parties discuss the possible outcome of the elections; and in Guyana, the army and police combine efforts to clean up the last remnants of jungle warfare.

Headlines(00:00 - 00:35) 2. The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) has today launched a campaign against the ill-treatment of the green monkey in Barbados. The organization is calling for the Barbadian government to stop exporting which monkey for laboratory experiments. BUAV is demanding that Britons think first before travelling to Barbados. Carol Orr reports and interviews six people on the street of East London on the issue. Steve McIvor campaign director, BUAV talks about the reason the campaign has been launched against the Barbados (00:36-05:24) 3. Austin Sealey, Barbados' High Commissioner to London talks about the action taken by the Barbadian government to address the mistreatment of the green monkeys (05:25-07:50) 4. Election campaign meeting of the ruling New Democratic Party in St. Vincent and with election a week away, there are predictions of a two-thirds majority by both parties. John Horne of the ruling NDP, speaks optimistically about the party's performance and its victory in the upcoming elections but Ralph Gonzales, Leader of the Movement for the National Unity sees matters differently (07:51-12:27) 5. Suriname is cleaning up the last remants of its jungle war. In a joint operation, the army and police have begun removal of mines and explosives in the Eastern part of the country in the area that suffered most from the violent clashes between the national army and armed rebel soldiers from the interior.
