Political Agroecology: Political Ecology critique of agrifood capitalism
The emergence of Political Agroecology is presented as a derivation of Political Ecology applied to the analysis of power relations in agri-food systems regulation. At the same time that it elaborates a critique of the institutional foundations of the neoliberal agri-food regime, the Political Agroecology provides theoretical-conceptual and methodological references to support processes of institutional change so that agroecological practices can be used on growing social and geographic scales.

La emergencia de la agroecología política es presentada como una derivación de la ecología política aplicada al análisis de las relaciones de poder en la regulación de los sistemas agroalimentarios. Al mismo tiempo que elabora una crítica de los fundamentos institucionales del régimen agroalimentario neoliberal, la agroecología política aporta referenciales teórico-conceptuales y metodológicos para apoyar procesos de cambio institucional para que las prácticas agroecológicas sean empleadas en escalas sociales y geográficas crecientes. A emergência da Agroecologia Política é apresentada como uma derivação da Ecologia Política aplicada à análise das relações de poder na regulação dos sistemas agroalimentares. Ao mesmo tempo em que elabora uma crítica aos fundamentos institucionais do regime agroalimentar neoliberal, a Agroecología Política aporta referenciais teórico-conceituais e metodológicos para apoiar processos de mudança institucional para que as práticas agroecológicas sejam empregadas em escalas sociais e geográficas crescentes.
