Official report from Nigeria for the 1981 ICE on educational organization and educational development. The National Policy on Education of 1976 identifies the educational priority areas as follows: universal primary education, technical and agricultural education, teacher education, adult and nonformal education, and special education. Distance education is becoming increasingly important as an alternative to formal education. The National Mass Literacy Campaign is scheduled for launching in 1982 under the supervision of the National Commission for Adult Education.
