50 years of adult education in India
This is a series of case studies on adult education programmes in India which include various functional literacy projects - The first section contains articles on motivation for literacy among adults, literacy retention among new literates, description of educational programmes for women and a programme evaluation of a functional literacy programme in Lucknow District. Section two contains an article on changing attitudes of the rural population in an Indian village of a traditional cultural background as well as an article on educational radio forums aiming at rural development. Sections three and four include articles on functional literacy programmes in rural areas. The statistical tables and questionnaires used for data collection are contained in some of these articles
