Recurrent education: policy and development in OECD member countries: Australia
This study for CERI OECD analyses recurrent education in Australia - Sociocultural patterns of Australian society are given as background. Educational provision in Australia, especially provision of higher education, technical education, and inservice education are described. The basic principles of recurrent education are examined in the light of recent major educational inquiries and statements of national educational policies. Educational policy trends towards recurrent education are outlined along with programmes of colleges, technical colleges, professional associations, industry, trade unions and adult education associations. The report concludes with an examination of planning and research problems.
