Towards a rational education for women in the Arab world
This paper discusses womens education in the Arab countries - A brief educational history in the Arab world is given, emphasizing the effect of the traditional beliefs of the Moslems. Formal and nonformal education are discussed showing educational policies, enrolment trends and statistical data on illiteracy. Various negative and positive factors affecting the rate of illiteracy among women are given. The final part of the paper addresses itself to the relevance of womens education to the employment of women.
