How adults learn

Addressed to practitioners in adult education the book reviews educational practice in the field and provides the adult educators with learning theories and practical instructions for work with adult students - The author proceeds by steps: first, he analyses the situation of the adult learner with special emphasis on his physical condition, his personality, his psychological needs as well as student motivation and his reaction to the educational environment. The author then examines existing theories for their relevance to adult learning. By looking at present-day adult education programmes he demonstrates how organization and administration may condition learning. Finally the main features which influence the adult learning processes are analysed with particular emphasis on the teacher role.
