Report on the United Nations Transport and Communications Decade in Africa, 1978-1988 : progress report on the programme of the first phase of the decade (1980-1983) for the North African subregion

In view of the aid these countries and organizations have extended for the development of African countries in the past, presumably the implementation of the Decade may still count on these sources of financing with the result that one might reasonably expect the $US.3.9 billion for the programme for the first phase to be covered in full. This is all the more likely since various operations provide for in volume II of the Decade have already been begun and some are nearing completion, which implies that certain financial assistance was already acquired prior to the Decade.
