Report on the control of the desert locust

1962 has been characterized by a marked decline of Desert Locust activity in Africa especially in the areas west of the Nile where no appreciable infestations have been reported since a few swarms occurred there in mid 1961. The infestations in eastern Africa have been at far lower levels than during recent years. Eastern Africa however, remains open to reinfestation from south western Asia.
