Statement by Vera Songwe: fifty-second session of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Ministerial segment

The Conference of Ministers on the theme of “Fiscal policy, trade and the private sector in the digital era: a strategy for Africa”. It provides the context for us to deliberate on three topical issues of concern for all the member countries today, namely resource mobilization, job creation and inclusive growth. It also focuses the thoughts on the opportunities offered by rapid digitization to address these pertinent issues. To set Africa firmly on the path towards economic and social transformation, it is imperative to focus on sustainable reforms, investment and innovation.
