Remote sensing and GIS activities in the lake chad basin commission
The commission undertook a diagnostic study and prepared a master plan for the environmentally sound management of the conventional basin with the assistance of UNEP, FAO and UNSO. At the eight summit of Heads of state of the Commission in 1994, where the master plan was approved, an international campaign to save the Lake was launched.
