The sixth meeting of the statistical commission for Africa was held under the theme “Enhancing the capacity of national statistical systems to support policies for Africa’s economic diversification and industrialization”. The theme of the meeting had been chosen to highlight the role of the national statistical system, as the backbone of the trans-formative agenda for Africa, in supporting economic diversification and industrialization policies and promoting the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063 of the African Union.
