Monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the Dakar and Beijing platforms for action (task brief) : African centre for women work programme 2000-2005
The ECA programme for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Platform for Action is underpinned by the provisions of the platform themselves that were in turn adopted by State Members of the United Nations General Assembly and the Economic Commission for Africa. The Beijing platform for action recognizes the imperative of ensuring that a monitoring and evaluation mechanism of the United Nations. The outcome of the sixth Regional Conference revealed that the progress achieved was significantly less than what was expected in a number of ways. The monitoring and evaluation programme will focus on the performance of governments in relation to their commitments.
