Africa trade centre = centre Africain du commerce: trade opportunities = propositions d'affaires
There is no doubt that African countries are gravely concerned about the region’s economic and social crises. It was for this reason that the African Heads of State and Government, at their 21st Session held in July 1985, adopted Africa's Priority Programme of Economic Recovery 1986-1990 (APPER). This was a major step taken by African governments not only to show that the primary responsibility for the development of their continent rested on themselves but also to reaffirm their commitment for undertaking policy reforms and measures with view to implementing a concerted programme of action as a follow-up to the "Lagos Plan of Action".
