The regional plan of action to accelerate the implementation of the Dakar and Beijing platforms for action for the advancement of women : period: 2000 - 2004
This document focused on the Regional Plan of Action was formulated within the framework of the mid-decade review of the Implementation of the Dakar and Beijing Platforms for Action. That review was conducted through the Sixth Africa Regional Conference on Women, held from 22 to 26 November 1999 at the Economic Commission for Africa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The review was conducted in the form of national progress reports that were prepared by the Governments of most African countries with inputs from all the actors involved in implementing the action plans. Evaluation reports were also prepared by the Organization of African Unity, the Africa Development Bank, non-governmental organizations, the Economic Commission for Africa and United Nations agencies.
