African population and housing censuses and surveys
This report will serve the general purpose of summarizing African participation in the 1970 World Census Programme. Part I: General Information on Population Censuses and Surveys, contains tables showing the kind of enquiry undertaken or planned in African countries; it also gives a summary report or the meeting of the Consultative Group on African Census Programmes, held in Addis Ababa from 18--22 January 1971. Part II: Census and Survey Arrangements in Selected Countries, is a slightly revised version of a paper submitted by ECA to the Seminar, on Population Data and use of computers with special Reference to Population Research (English speaking countries),which was held in May 1971 under the auspices of the German Foundation for Developing Countries.
