Regional Institute for Population Studies: Accra, Ghana
The establishment of the Institute is based on an agreement between the United Nations and the government of Ghana. The agreement which was signed in December 1971, in the first hand covers a five-years period. This institute, popularly known as RIP, is one of the five demographic centers which are sponsored by the United Nations. It is situated in Accra, Ghana and its objective is to promote and strengthen research and training in demography and related fields in interested English speaking countries of Africa.
