During the last two decades, there is a detioration in the keeping of African national accounts in terms of product quality and periodicity,of publication. Thus, the statistical services responsible for producing national accounts have been sevjeEely critized for generating statistics that fail to meet the ri>eds of users. The implementation of the 1993 SNA in African countries offers the opportunity to curb this trend. The purpose of this paper is to consider the actions to be taken at international, regional and national levels to support the implementation of the 1993 SNA in African contries.
