Report of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa to the sub-committee on geo-information at the second meeting of the Committee on Development Information (CODI-2)
The secretariat is pleased to report to the first meeting of the Sub-committee on Geo information of the Committee on Development Information (CODI), on follow up of actions referred to it by the Ninth United Nations Regional Cartographic Conference for Africa and on activities of interest to the region in the field of geographic information technologies. The implementation of these actions and activities should be seen taking into account that the reporting period coincided, to a great extent, with a critical period of transition experienced by ECA resulting from a process of change and reform carried out in the years 1995, 1996 and 1997.
