Types of price index forumulae and weighting methods

From early times the theory of index numbers has given rise to much effort in the search for a perfect index formula. Such efforts have resulted in a literature providing a large number of well known formulae for index numbers. This part will deal only with those formulae which are frequently applied in national statistical offices in the field of price statistics.
