Study on the interrelationship between infant and child mortality and fertility levels and their policy implications in selected ECA member states

Analysis of interrelationships between infant and child mortality and fertility is an important policy-oriented research on population. In order for policy-makers to formulate and implement population programmes designed to reduce high levels of fertility and mortality, particularly infant and child mortality it is imperative that adequate information about demographic processes is available. Demographic research provides important results to facilitate greater awareness about the important role played by population variables in development planning and programme implementation.
