Nitrogen adsorption on synthetic ferrihydrite
Low-temperature nitrogen adsorption has been used to study the structure of two samples of ferrihydrite prepared by different methods. Results of X-ray powder diffraction and infrared spectroscopy show identical characteristics for both samples. However, transmission electron microscopy, specific surface area measurements, and qualitative assessment of porosity strongly suggest different structure.
