Advocacy of science-based decision making in agricultural biotechnology

This project will support Cartagena´s Protocol on Biosafety and sciecne-based regulatory systems for the development of agriculture biotechnology in the LatinAmerican and the Caribbean Countries. The project will include activities that support the goals to increase access to, and markets for, U.S. agricultural biotech or genetically engineered crops, and to promote the technology´s role in addressing food security and climate change adaptation and mitigation. The activities will support promoting science-based regulatory systems; engaging with key decision makers and influencers of the technology to enhance understanding of the potential economic and societal contributions of agricultural biotech; and developing alliances to foster collaboration and common messaging at international
