To evaluate the utility of Algerian grapevines (Yitis vinífera L.) maintained al tbe mother gennplasm collection of Mascara and other in non-controllcd arca, a study was conductcd to vcrify the similarity and detennine any possible relationships betwcen cuhivars, using 9nuclear microsatellitcs markers and ampelographic traits of aduh lea ves. The results allowed us to identify some synonyms within local varieties. Data analysis has revealed highly significan! characters, such as anglrs, petiole sinus and the lengths of tbe veins. However, principal componen! analysis and hierarehical cluster analysis havc allowed arranging cultivars into thrce main groups.
