Brazilian semiarid survey
The brief reports on the findings of a farmer-level survey conducted in the context of the pilot phase of the UNDFF global consultation of family farmers. The purpose of the survey was to monitor the situation of family farming and identify challenges faced by family farmers and small-scale producers in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The brief describes the survey and sampling procedure, and the characteristics of the final sample. It discusses the COVID-19 context as well as lockdown measures and policies to which respondents were exposed. Finally, the brief provides an overview of the agricultural profile of the respondents and their access to agricultural inputs and services, commercialization approaches, risk management strategies and income levels.
