Enhancing Capacities of Countries and Organizations to Implement Climate Action in Agriculture Sectors - GCP/GLO/966/GER

Striving towards the accomplishment of the goals of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Agenda, the international community is calling for a low-carbon future free of hunger and poverty. These goals cannot be achieved without decisive action on climate change; and climate change cannot be addressed without sustainably managing the world’s natural resources, biodiversity and agriculture and food systems. In this context, technical and research institutions highlight the potential of climate action in agriculture sectors, and are developing and releasing related training materials and information on a regular basis. However, much of the existing knowledge and resources are spread over a wide variety of platforms and websites. Policy-makers and other stakeholders often find numerous options when searching online, but there is little or no guidance to help them select the most appropriate knowledge product for their needs. In view of this, the international community has made a call for access to consolidated information resources, and a space for facilitated experience sharing between countries.
