Strengthening farmers’ resistance to plant pest and disease outbreaks- GCP/GLO/391/EC

The purpose of the International Plant Protection Convention is to secure common and effective action to prevent the spread and introduction of plant pests into endangered areas and to promote measures for their control. Implementation of the provisions made in the Convention are guided by the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures. The Implementation Review and Support System for the Convention, which was agreed subsequently, was designed to build on existing or planned processes approved by the Convention’s governing body, facilitating and promoting its implementation.
